Week 10 – Persistence Brings Success

Persistence Brings Success In Any Endeavour

Persistence is powerI am late with this post for good reason. Here’s why and a great illustration of how persistence pays.

On Monday morning I discovered my main website (terryneraasen.com) had been hacked and subsequently designated by Google as a Deceptive site. That in turn had this MKMMA site painted with the same brush, because it is a subdomain of terryneraasen.com.

So I spent a good deal of time dealing with the issue and purchasing a Sitelock Security subscription to thoroughly scan and clean up my website. In the meantime, if you use Google Chrome browser you may have received a security warning when you visited.

But Rest Assured the Site is Safe Now. See the Sitelock Security Badge in the lower right corner.

Persistence gets a Sitelock badge

I am still working through Sitelock Security to get Google to correct their assessment since I now have a Sitelock Security badge installed and the site is clean and secure. While Google instantly labelled the site as deceptive, they are taking their bloody sweet time about reinstating the site as safe.

**Update: After much dicking around and finding that Sitelock was in fact more a problem than a help I shut their service down. Further to that my hosting company (http://asmallorange.com) ran the other way as fast as they could and treated me like I was the bad guy. So I fired them and moved all my sites over to http://site5.com where I found the assistance I needed. I DO NOT recommend either Sitelock or ASmallorange to anyone.

This makes The Scroll Marked III particularly pertinent to me this week.

Henceforth will I recognize that each day I am tested by life in like manner. If I persist, if I continue to try, if I continue to charge forward, I will succeed.

I am also reminded that “each misfortune I encounter will carry in it the seed of tomorrow’s good luck.” I really do consider this obstacle as a mere detour, and a learning experience, on the way to my goal. I am a professional and I meet challenges with a winning attitude. Persistence really is a characteristic of successful people.

I can say that I am a different person after 10 weeks in the Master Key Mastermind Experience. I reacted to this very serious problem with a much less frustration and anger than I might have a short while ago. While I didn’t put a positive spin on it I reacted calmly and analytically with the idea that what matters is getting the issue resolved.

How the situation arose in the first place I considered a secondary issue to be dealt with once the problem was resolved and the website fixed. I will bring persistence to bear on this question when the time is right.
